Siren
wind howls
she does too
you feel the eyes
stabbing holes in you
she comes closer
your lips part
arms wrap around you
it’s only a start
every small note
ripped and torn
taken by lips
horribly well worn
you meet her eyes
pointed teeth smile sharp
she steals the sound
of your mother’s harp
a part of you screams
another is joyful
even as your eyes
grow more and more dull
you slip away
into the darkening sea
nothing is left
but that haunting melody
