Heaven
The lifeless dog we passed on the road,
they said it went to doggy heaven.
I never believed when I was told,
even when I was only seven.
The fish gone from the tank,
that was beside my bed.
It was in a better place,
that's at least what my mother said.
The cat that I would see again someday,
was to be put down.
That's what my brother began to say,
but I saw it in his frown.
I got a knock on the door one day,
my parents had came home to say,
my grandmother had passed away.
-But even at eleven,
I knew not all things went to Heaven.
