When I first watched the Barbie movie, I had pretty high expectations because it was one of the top movies that everyone was talking about. Once I finished watching it, I was actually a little surprised because it wasn’t really what I was expecting. When I think of Barbie I just think of the color pink and playing with barbies as a little girl, but the movie was so much more than that.

The movie Barbie is a 2023 comedy/fantasy film starring Margot Robbie who plays Barbie and Ryan Gosling who plays Ken. Barbie and Ken live in a perfect place called Barbie Land. This is a happy place that has lots of color and everything's perfect. Although one day Barbie notices something is off. She wasn’t as happy anymore and was starting to have thoughts of death which wasn’t normal for barbies. And she realized something felt weird, she looked down to see she was flat footed. She knew this wasn’t normal and soon figured out that she would have to go to the real world to see what was happening.

Overall, this movie had some good humor, making it enjoyable to everyone. With Barbie and Ken being naive to the real world towards the beginning of the movie, it was funny to watch because they really stood out from everyone else. Since they are barbies, they were dressed up a lot different from everyone else so they kept getting weird looks. They also act differently from everyone else because they think they are famous because they are Baribe and Ken. They don't know anything that’s happening so they are just going around doing whatever they want because it is nothing like Barbie Land.

The plot of the movie was great. The movie caught the audience's attention as soon as Barbie started to feel off. This makes the plot interesting and Barbie having to travel to the real world to figure out what her purpose was a great plot for this movie. Going into the real world changed Barbie, and that is something you learn about when you watch the movie.

Being a movie about Barbie, this movie showed a strong theme of feminism and how women can do anything. Barbie represents a strong woman who can do anything she wants. This theme fits in well with the plot to create an interesting story.

I enjoyed this movie and it lived up to my expectations. I didn’t think a movie about Barbie’s would have as deep of a meaning as it did. I liked the major theme the movie was portraying and it can definitely teach the audience a thing or two.

I wanted to write about the Barbie movie because it is a popular movie and I enjoyed watching it so I thought it would be great to write about it.
