The secret life and brutal death of mamie thurman by F. keith davis
The book, "The secret life and brutal death of Mamie Thurman" is a very good book because, it clearly presents the brutality of the murder, the tragic sadness of the life cut short, & the complexity that makes it difficult to determine exactly what happened. the book includes pictures of Mamie and jack Thurman "Her husband." Also images of her family; & old images of Logan high school, which was located at the east end of Stratton street. the book try's to answer the question "Who really killed Mamie Thurman?'' secrets and scandal surrounding the trial of her murder are confusing yet, the Author try's to explain it so that the readers understand the main point of the book. The book includes date of birth to the date of death which was, ''1900-1932.'' The book is very descriptive and I would recommend it to anyone that would like to learn about Mamie Thurman’s brutal death!
I personally think that Mamie Thurman’s death will never be forgotten.the book was written by F. Keith Davis and is about a prominent woman of Logan during the Depression, who is brutally murdered with a broken neck, throat slashed, and point blank gunshots to the head. Mamie was a member of the tight lipped aristocracy who used a special room in downtown Logan for their private club for gambling, illegal drinking, and wife-swapping . A local handyman was apparently framed for the murder and spent the rest of his life in prison. But recently a slew of evidence pointing to several groups from the mob, to the KKK, to rumrunners had a part in this gruesome story.
what I liked about the book is how the author clearly presents the brutality of the murder in such strong detail. I also liked how the author included pictures; and quotes from Logan banner archive from back at the time of Mamie Thurman’s death. I think that the authors main point is to answer the question that everyone has asked ''who really killed Mamie Thurman,'' and the author answers that question as clearly as possible. the book is wrote in journalistic form, and I have never read a book wrote in that form.in all the book.
''The secret life and brutal death of Mamie Thurman'' is a true story of a murder and mystery that took place in Logan, West Virginia. You are left wondering who killed the beautiful but unfaithful wife of a policeman in the small town of Logan. I think the book is just best described the best as, VERY INTERESTING!!
