Unrequited
His eyes burned bright of wisdom not yet shown,
A sweet, strong gaze that took me by surprise.
Dear sir, you have taken my heart, be wise,
For you have changed every principle known.
Black and white life, now in vibrant pigment,
Dull is no more, for your being I dwell.
My simple words cannot perfectly tell,
The bliss your presence has to my heart sent.
Yet grief strikes hard as a murderer’s gun,
My name has not crossed your mind with leisure.
And though your laughter shines just like the sun,
I was not there to see the sunset blur.
My feelings cast like some outlandish pun,
We bump shoulders, you say, “sorry, Stranger.”
