Mother Nature, Mother Nature.
You gave me the blood every girl awaits.
But I didn’t ask.
You developed my body slowly,
But I didn’t ask.
When I woke up in soiled sheets,
Everyone said, “You’re a woman now.”
But that’s not true.
My body was betraying me,
And I was helpless to stop it.
Your name is Mother Nature,
But you were no mother to me.
