Leaves
Leaves often crunch
As well as munch
Across paths and roads
Laying down their loads
Feathery, wispy
The texture remains crusty
And symmetrical; line dividing
Through leaf ridges; subsiding
Into the carefully-cut leaf shape
Embedded like tape
A long stem curves
And swerves
The leaf into a twisted position
Staring forward; yet also turned, in addition
Leaves make no noise; their bodies float lightly
Falling so slightly
Among fences, trees
Anywhere with or without other leaves
