love on steroids
I once saw this boy
Who had cuts and bruises
Inside and out
He had a story
I asked him if I could fly
He told me that I could try
I asked him if he would
Catch me if I couldn’t
He said yes
So, I took him outside
And climbed on the roof
With confidence that he
Would catch me if I fell
I looked down at him
And jumped off the roof
I wasn’t prepared to hit
The ground so hard
My wings were broken
Then I met another boy
And cowered in fear
I asked him if I could fly
He told me that I could try
I asked him if he would
Catch me if I couldn’t
He said yes
So, I took him outside
And climbed on the roof
With confidence that he
Would catch me if I fell
I looked down at him
Took a deep breath
And with all the courage
I could muster
I jumped off the roof
This time, I was prepared to hit the ground
Hard, but I didn’t
My heart soared with my body
And I knew that I was in love
On steroids
