Three Poems About Three Boys I Have Known
1. Berlin
It’s freezing on this rooftop
But your hand on my hip
Against my skin
Is warm inside my jeans
and
My little finger traces you
With a mind of its own.
2. (A haiku)
I still wear your watch
You use the mug I gave you
We’ve not talked in weeks
3. Junior Prom
You kissed me in the final week of April
On a day that had no rain.
But on the drive home,
With my lips barely apart
And my head still full of static,
I saw the very first flash of summer lightening.
Lonely, and purple white,
It split the sky like something in a movie.
