Never Knew
A pale ball of stardust
Journeying across the curtains of sky
That holds the universe beyond
All I want to do
And can do
Is to keep traveling forward
To follow the dreams unfurled ahead.
I never knew your luminescence
Could draw me to you
Never knew we could burn together
So brightly even just for a moment
Never knew we could outshine the constellations
Never knew I could live more
Out of these few days
Than in years
And I never knew that
I would be pulled apart from you
Never knew that I wouldn’t be able to
Cut loose all the bonds
Never knew that
The sun could set so fast
Never knew that your glow
Would visit me every night
Never knew that
You would live more than a memory
Never knew that
My reality is so fantastical
Never knew that
You are a dream so real.
