Whirlwind
My heart pounds as I prepare myself to play.
I watch as the judge jots something down on her notepad.
My hands shake as I try to calm myself.
The judge tells me to begin playing.
My hands move in a whirlwind of action.
I tune everything out as I focus on my music.
Line after line flows through my head.
I stare at the black and white keys
as my hands fly across the piano.
After what seems like ages, I finish.
I sit on the bench, waiting for the judge to finish writing.
I glance at the judge, and she tells me I can leave.
I let out a sigh and hope for the best.
