Uncommon Recipe: High School
Ingredients:
A sprinkle of old familiar faces
A dollop of awkwardness
A whisper of loneliness
An ocean of homework and studying
A beaker full of disappointment
A flurry of bad grades
An acre of kids will an inflated self-entitlement
A carton of trying to please everyone
A handful of good times
A garden of responsibility
A lifetime of lessons learned
Directions:
In a big bowl, sprinkle in some familiar faces from middle school, a dollop of awkwardness, and a whisper of loneliness. Now sift in an ocean of homework and studying, but prepare a beaker for excess disappointment and a flurry of bad grades.
Add a carton of trying to please everyone but have that beaker ready again.
Now in a separate bowl, mix together an acre of kids with an inflated self-entitlement for a nice icing on the cake. Let sit for a few years, and a handful of good times can finally be added to the mix. Add some pickings from your garden of responsibility, and bake until graduation. Once cooled and it’s summer time, sprinkle on a lifetime of lessons learned and enjoy.
