The Men
In the crowd of people
Huddled around each other
The tents in the back hover over them
Keeping the hot sun off of their backs
Still, sweat clings to everyone
As they sway, and jump up and down
Reaching to the sky as if God were to come down and grab their hands
These people are men
Women apparently are not allowed
Or maybe it is something women aren’t interested in
The men are trying to get attention like a child with no friends
They are desperate to be seen, or to be heard
They have a tired energetic look on their faces
Like someone who has been up since the night before, getting no rest
The men continue this on, and on again until the last man is standing.
