Notebook
Smooth,
but also covered
with scars,
impurities,
but still so plain and simple.
Malleable,
but also resistant.
Full of potential,
but not willing to give
without stolen ideas and
imaginations.
Countless memories
trapped within,
only to the wielder,
still so plain and simple.
Aged,
like any good story,
yet never wanting
to let go,
like a passing family member,
or nameless pet,
so plain, so simple.
Clean,
sharpened edges,
lacerating
any unworthy
intruder.
Plain,
simple,
but a most well-guarded
treasure,
keeper
of secrets,
librarian
of memories,
none the same. Every feature,
word,
emotion,
memory,
and reason different,
yet
the notebook keeps it all,
and the notebook
will always be there for you.

I've always had the ability to drain emotion, positive or negative, into any form of writing, thus, writing comes naturally to me. Going along with that general theme, one of the items I value most that almost everyone has access to, is a notebook.
