Theory of a Failure
What is it like to truly hit rock bottom?
To put your soul on the page
As a child to be always praised
And then to check to see that everyone
Seems to have forgotten
The things you made.
What is it like to work hours at a time
to make one
silly
rhyme
and have no recognition?
All the things you tried hard for
told that it should have been remissioned?
When you think you’re hot stuff,
but the world is rough
and you slowly sink in a cycle of
“You’ll never be good enough.”
Maybe it’s the feeling when you think your
healing,
but it turns out that you’re not ok.
The broken heart
Shattered
When your work of art
Has been turned away.
All you need is one voice
to solidify your choice
of continuing to create.
And when they show up,
it seems to be a twist of fate.
Someone actually likes it and thinks it’s great.
You will carry on.

I think most people here have experienced the feeling of dread when you check your teenink profile and see that no one has seen of liked your work.
