Butterflies in Winter
If you watched a butterfly in winter,
you wouldn't hear the beating of wings.
Only silence- an eccho,
of the inability for the creature to
speak.
But one cannot ignore,
the screaming sky.
The grey that shouts
The wind that howls.
The snow that finally reaches the
ground.
It is hushed all around.
If you took the time to watch,
a butterfly in winter,
you would not hear
the beating of their wings.
Only the stillness
of their tiny hearts
within.
