Hero in Exile

Once a great leader,
Growing high and mighty,
Was taken by a large beast.
His faded reality enclosed him in a trance.
Viper veins bound his feet,
His fragile foundation began to break.
Sunlight warmed cold heart,
His fierce soul could breathe again.
Reminders of beginning roots sprout beauty as the beast is stifled again.
