A Summer Dream
She stood there waiting,
In the cool summer breeze,
For someone who would never show.
The breeze swept up her hair.
The sun fell asleep,
And the moon awoke.
Hours had passed,
She became restless.
Now sitting on a lonely hill,
Wishing that she could wait longer.
She could feel the tears,
Rush down her face,
Blurring her vision.
She longed to wait for someone,
Someone special and dear to her,
Someone who could build her up,
And bring her crashing down.
She could only describe the feeling,
With one word.
A word the could mean bliss,
Or heartache.
What she felt was love,
And this girl I speak of was me.
But my imagination played a cruel joke,
And that night was nothing,
But a dream,
A dream that had me wake,
To screaming and crying.
Everything that happened was fake,
Except for my feelings,
And my tears.
All for a boy who would never know.
This dream I will hold close to me,
For it is what woke me,
To the feelings I felt.
