Shiver
Quake, violent with a tangy taste of the tangible
Tremble, eager under ashes
lightly scented with the taste of dandelion salad
And step back, unwilling to go farther
Contact.
Finding air seems to be harder
Pull the chain, illuminate
bright tiles and peppermint tea
Walk the streets with no direction
Overestimate perception
We climbed a wall so high above the street
Watched the lights that danced beneath our feet
and jumped into serenity
pretending that infinity was real
but then a quake…
violent, with a tangy taste of the tangible
trembling, terrified under the ashes
of a brown paper cigarette,
that light that danced before our eyes,
…shivered me back
and stole me away.
