Profound Bond

His voice whispers
my name like a prayer,
a mantra that I always
listen, always hear.
I lay down my life
to protect his;
I rebel from everything I've
known, everything that is.
And what has he done
in return?
Ignores my feelings,
ignores the burn.
I should leave him,
go back to Heaven...
but what's an angel
without his demon?
