My earliest memory
        Isn’t a vision or song
A touch or smell or taste
It’s coming home to a faithful dog
                    After a long day’s work
The warmth of the spring sun
                    Breaking the cold of winter
The return of a family member one
                    From an extensive absence
The happily ever after
                    After the darkest times
The presence of your closest friend
When no one else was there
The excitement
                    Of a child on Christmas
The beating heart of your lover
                    Laying by your side
The glittering dawn
                    Following a stormy night
My earliest memory
                    Isn’t a vision or song
A touch or smell or taste
   Its hope, love and joy
       Felt in my heart

I love the beat of this piece. It's interesting. The rhythm of the intro so pleasant that I read back over it several times. Nice work!

Beautiful poem, and the spacing was quite original and added to the poem through pauses. It's a very sweet poem.
