The road to you is hard, bumpy, and full of holes but its worth getting to know the real you.

Smell the iron, see the sword

Hear the faithful pray to Lord

Touch the ground and feel the cries

Taste the tears in your eyes

Right here is where it all began

Gone here to land

Ring on finger, heart in strife

Taken away your happy life

Left with grief and left with sorrow

Killed us all like no tomorrow

See the fire, feel the pain

Hear the screams of the slayer

Taste the ash that touch your heart

Your beautiful world was ripped apart

Rage burns deep down inside

No place left for you to hide

Danger lurks in the air

But your life you don't care

Heart in hand, hate in eyes

With all the men you despise

Walk the grounds of the dead

They'd have followed where he lead

Weapons down, wives in tears

All their dreams turned to fears

Mourners came, sunsets gone

No more joy carries on

Blackened skies and tearful rays

Venom songs and vengeful ways

People dying, widows weep

The pain forever you will keep

The author's comments:

I want people to go through the aftermath have war and experience it with all their senses and what it would feel like to be alive but have so many that are not. I wrote this because my teacher talked about a book he wrote on war to called love and war, and I thought  about it and the words just flowed to me. Don't just have someone tell you what went on actually visualize it. It is almost like a story coming g to life just watch it.
