Shut my thoughts off, close my eyes

the world around me starts to fade

my troubles, worries, pain, and cries

all exiled from this world I've made.

In my world, there is no woe

excitement here I yearn to seek

here I smile not just for show

and pleasure ascends up to its peak.

In my world, there's no unease

inspiration instead takes flight

I'm free to ruminate as I please

and blissful visions cloud my sight.

But sadly, life must return to its course

for all good things must surely end

and so I depart from my world by force

and start my longing yet again.
