Your words are like bee stings
On my very sore, tender skin.
Although it hurts,
I’m still excited.
Because you gave thought to me.
I’m in this stage of life,
That even though your words weren’t nice,
I still feel alive,
Because in those 3 seconds
It took you to call me a dumb *ss wh*ore,
Your full attention was on me.
I must have been worth your time,
Because we both know that
Those were 3 seconds of your life,
You’re never getting back.
Your words affected me, eternally.
And I don’t know how much more
I can take.
I’m breaking.
Your words are buried into my
Heart, mind and body.
Each crack is showing on my skin.
Some are easier
To fix than others.
You can see the white
Super glue fading.
I can feel myself collapsing,
From the inside out.
First a thought,
Then the blade,
Then the glue.
One crack.
Two crack.
Three crack.
Gone.

I had written this poem as a metaphor to compare a self-harming teenager to some type of broken ceramic.
