In this life we get so little first

We only get to experience something for the first time one time

You can only experience the thrill of that new story for the first time once

You can only taste your favorite food for the fist time once

You can only meet someone for the firt time the one time

Which is why I never would have guessed

There would be a first time your lips would touch mine

There would be a first time those three words would ring true

There would be a first time I gave myself up to you

And something I really could never have known

Was the joy of the first, last time I say those two little words 

"I do"
