Don't Judge a Girl by Her Smiley Face Leg Warmers
I seem to be a firework, sparkling up the sky
but really I’m a firefly, struggling to glow.
I seem to be a smiley face lit up in cheerful yellow
but really I’m an icey tear, sprung up from a sorrowful sob.
I seem to be the boldest red that colors the bravest kites
but really I’m the shyest black that paints across the night.
I seem to be a busy street or a high-rise standing tall
But really I’m a solitary street lamp in an alley .
I seem to be so many things, so many laughs and smiles.
When really I am only one, a girl misunderstood.
