If You Really Want To Know
When I was a kid,
they told me to walk a mile,
in someone Else's shoes.
But what can you learn,
from a persons shoes?
If you really want to know
what my life is like,
take my eye,
so you can see
why I'd rather look out the window
than talk on the way to school.
And take my legs,
so you can feel what it's like
to constantly want to
run away.
Also, take my ears,
so you'll know
why I'd rather be listening
to music right now.
Finally,
take my shoulders,
so you can bear
the weight that I drag with me
every morning.
