Happy in the Rain
As I stood there waiting for her to approach my driveway
I couldn’t help but cry
The words wanted to come
But my gut told me not to try.
She stood there in front of me with her beautiful brown eyes
I didn’t have much to say but ask her, “Why?”
“Why don’t you like me?
Did I hurt you?”
She stared at me with despair, lost and confused.
As it began to rain,
She started to speak.
“You’re right. I don’t like you,
I love you with my heart, soul, and my life.”
As I teared up, filled with happiness and joy,
She leaned in for a kiss.
When the rain fell upon us it felt like we were the only two left on this earth.
I can never forget this moment,
Me being happy in the rain.
