Machine Gun
Rock the world into my arms, soothing her from the pain of
The blows she received in Hiroshima
And Iraq, and Afghanistan, and Kenya, and America
And Cairo, and Syria, and Tunisia.
I don't hate you.
Neither does Mother Earth.
Then why wage a war against us?
I plant a tree for every bomb that you detonate,
I share a flower for every bullet you shoot,
I spread love for every child you kill,
In the land where you belong.
Maybe you have forgotten who you are,
Or where you come from,
Or how insignificant you are
In this vast universe we live in,
Or how special you are
In this vast universe we live in.
Who are you?
Back to my world who weeps into my arms,
Worrying not about herself,
But about you.
