A Wondrous Adventure

Miles away
far from home
cast into a land with the means for adventure.
Palm trees sway,
sidewalks dusted with gold,
the most magical things take place in the streets
after the winter dies from the suns beaming rays.
Off the beaten path lies a mysterious find, crafted
of lava from space, that cooled
into a cold blackened stone.
A most glorious gift given a memory
to look back on.
Father and son walk away
returning to the place called home
