Teenage Years
Being a teenage girl sucks
We’re programmed to hate our bodies
To hate girls because of their own bodies
We’re forced to either hate or love ourselves
But either way, you lose
Because if you believe you’re beautiful
You’re considered arrogant, cocky, a b****
And if you, for one moment, doubt yourself
You’re calling for attention
Being a teenage girl sucks
We’re taught that if a boy likes you
He’ll tear you down, and not build you up
And if you really love him, you’ll give him everything
Because if you don’t you’re prude
But if you do, you’re a sl*t
Being a teenage girl sucks
We’re told it’s our fault for men’s behavior
As if a part of our body dictates how we’re treat
That cat calls and roaming eyes are acceptable
Because we’re “asking for it”
Being a teenage girls sucks
We’re taught to measure our worth in weight
That what’s on the outside is what matters
Because “ugly” girls end up alone
Being a teenage girl sucks
