a pack of animals heard me more clearly than you did
an orphaned spine and
six wounded dogs is
hardly something to
call a home; i’ve got
a decade and a half
worth of lies sitting
under my left sleeve
and you haven’t got
the slightest idea—
how can you not see
the elephant in the room
when it’s sitting on your
heart and it’s nearly
stopped beating?
