Is It Bravery?
Listening to a command, worry crosses his brow
He knows they made a mistake, but what to do now?
Should he disobey orders, or run into the fight?
And take part in his one last fateful flight
When he sees at the battle his heart skips a beat
Wondering who could have done such a terrible feat
Thoughts race though his mind, but then he remembers
Why he is crouched in the scorching embers
Crouched down waiting for an unknown enemy
He thinks of his reason to stay, his family
They are why he is here in the lion’s den
He wants only the best; his resolve hardens
And as he takes a breath heart pounding in his chest
A small smile shows as he jumps to face his death
