To the little saplings and sprigs
She gathers them in her branches as winter nips at them

Spring comes
Just as Mama Maple promised

Says the Wise Willow to the little saplings and sprigs
Yes
The wildflowers agree
We bloom in the summer, so it has come
Fall will come too
She says to the baby pumpkins

Fall comes
Just as the Wise Willow promised
Says the Elderly Evergreen
To the little saplings and sprigs
And so will winter
The time when we all sleep but me
I will protect you with blankets of needles
He tells all the little plants

And so it continues
The never ending cycle
Of new adventures
And new hopes
