Voice
Voice…what is it?
Why is it that there are so many types?
Some have voices…like the Mona Lisa
and others have it as the crushed
paper you find in wastebaskets.
My own is a blank piece of paper.
Nothing special. Nothing too bad.
Why can’t it be like The Starry Night?
The Last Supper? The Sistine Chapel?
At least it is not something I’d want to throw away.
The lucky ones have their beautiful art pieces
while the ones like me who don’t
look on in admiration and envy
as art continues to thrive
the crushed papers continue to fill up in bins
and the blanks sit on the counter top all alone.
