Heroes
The day is swallowing into the night,
and I have no hope
The moon is whispering into the sky,
yet my bravery never shows
The sky bends with gleams of light,
but I am still afraid
That this is the day you won't come back,
that this is the day you won't hold me close.
Dad, the wars you fight are for our country,
but dad, the war I'm fighting is for your love.
The wars I'm fighting,
with millions of other little boys,
millions of little girls,
just waiting for our fathers to come home.
The world we live in needs heroes,
but kids without fathers need heroes too.
Dad, don't let another day
swallow into the night.
The only thing I need is for you to come,
come back home.
