What Happens At Night?
When the sun's rays benight,
And the world strolls into slumber,
I wonder whether my clothes play the banter,
The dandle board motions in disequilibrium,
And characters come alive.
Thus I question,
What happens at night?
When the clock ticks away,
I wonder whether a sprite,
Casts a spell on my eyes,
Or carols silently beside my ears,
Or takes diminutive propulsions on my cheek,
I wonder what happens when I have gone purblind,
What happens at night?
The lights go off,
Gilded sights fade,
When the lamps undress,
When darkness unravels,
Hopes thwart,
And I doff my coat and hat,
I wonder what happens at night?
