Let's forget these promises.
Let's pretend they're real .
Let's forget these nursey rhymes that we use to hear.
Let's forget those cuts and bumps and that bruise..
Let's pretend that you've been in my shoes.
Let's pretend that I'm normal.
Let's pretend that my past wasn't so horrible
But as we grow up, we can't play house anymore.
The sand box isn't a beach anymore.
And every stain won't disappear with bleach anymore.
So let's stop playing forgive and forget
And pretend forever more.
