Just The Cover
When you look at me,
What do you see?
Just a blank face,
Covered in freckles?
Just another stupid blonde
Who has to wear glasses
Because she can’t afford herself contacts?
A ruthless, unimportant, overweight person,
who wears Funky fashions because she
doesn’t have much money? Or the fact
That she’s not popular, and disconnected from the world
So you think she’s a freak.
Yes, this is all you see
Because You judge
Me by my cover.
I am not invisible,
Even though people
Walk pass me and I go undetected
That doesn’t make me imperceptible,
People just like to take one look
And that’s all they need to decide
If you’re important to their eye
But they won’t give you a chance
To explain who you really are
Or what your about,
They just don’t care
When I look at you,
What do I see?
I see things other people
Fail to realize
I keep an open mind,
I will try to comprehend,
Yes, this is what I see,
Incredibility hidden inside
I don’t judge you by your cover,
It’s not right and it will never be.
When you believe,
What do you dream?
I’d like to know.
Just talk to us
We are so much more
Than our covers.
