Lonely Valentine's Day
It's Valentine's day, and here I am
Soaking in a warm bubble bath
Swimming in the memories of last year
I recall coming home late at night
To only find rose petals
Trailing to our bedroom
When I opened the door
You were standing with boxes of chocolates
And my favorite flowers
It's been months since I've last
Touched your fragile skin against mine
Your warm presence
Still lingers in the house
And our picture still hangs
On the wall of my living room
Illustrating happy memories
That were once so rare
I'd like to believe that
I'm happier now than
I could have ever been with you
But truth is
I'm still holding onto that
One shred of hope of your returning
