Slipping beyond the horizon
The last rays of sunlight
Coloring the land in soft golds and pinks
The world grows darker
The temperature drops
A cloudless night
And the stars begin to shine
The air is filled with sound
Frogs croaking
Crickets chirping
The night is alive
The moon rises like clockwork
A silver beam
A soft silhouette
This is when I’m most comfortable
When I feel at peace
With the rest of the world
Sleeping around me
