after Christmas.
hearing from you (or rather seeing from you)
lit-up forgiveness making me blink twice
with my boyfriend on the phone asking
“what?
why did you stop talking?”
taking a bath in old times and lessons learned
does wonders for the present
Yes I love him
as I loved you
and these apologies mean more than I can say
this clean slate
which I will not abuse but use to bring some clarity
to the jazzlisten black and white side of me
that your ending things gave to me
and a wondrous understanding and I hope like hell I will
be a good friend to youthis time
This time in my snow and my green wisdom
rather than my green innocence
getting to know you again, my friend
is a gift
that I do not intend to take lightly
