Rebirth
I slip softly into the night,
I don’t know where I am going,
I just know that I am safe.
Like water falling from a tall cliff
To the small stream below,
And ending up in the ocean.
I will never be the same,
Not after this beautiful accident,
That has changed my life forever.
Like a small bird’s first flight,
Trying it’s hardest to stay up,
Gloriously defying gravity.
Never again will I be afraid,
Never again will I shatter
At the first sight of danger.
Like a caterpillar that has broken from it’s cocoon,
Seeing life how it really is,
For the very first time.
