Few Fly
Having fun is common,
but only with few can I fly.
Rolling around beneath a tree.
Leaping in and out of a green sea.
Munching on uprooted carrots.
This is fun, but I am not a rabbit.
Sitting on a window sill.
Strolling up and down the street.
Landing feet first on concrete.
This is fun, but I am not a cat.
Hibernating in the winter.
Protecting cubs with much care.
Hunting high up for honey.
This is fun, but I am not a bear.
Drooling in the kitchen.
Barking and chasing cars down.
Gnawing on a bone, previously hidden.
This is fun, but I am not a dog.
Growing in a cocoon.
Letting wings spread out.
Soaring free in the sky.
This is where I’m happy, for I am a butterfly.
Having fun is common,
but only with few can I fly.
