Sitting in the Sink
I’m sitting in the sink
I have to hold my breath
The water brims around me
I’m churning in its depth
I’m sitting in the sink
Thinking how nice it would be
If I would have learned to swim
When they tried to teach me
I’m sitting in the sink
My finger’s waterlogged
I want to drain the water
But the pipe seems to be clogged
I’m sitting in the sink
It didn’t look so deep
But now I am inside it
I never should have leaped
I’m sitting in the sink
I want to find the edge
I want to climb onto the land
I want to rest my head
I’m sitting in the sink
But it seems to be a sea
I thought that I could dive right in
So I could be set free
I’m sitting in the ocean
Not a thought left in my mind
I wish I’d been more careful
And not left my boat behind
