Sunshine Boy
The heart burns with regret
While tears of love and loss flow
I broke a promise for memories that are now extinct
I lost the sunlight because I had lived in the dark for so long
And was used to its comfort…
I held on to this poison because I felt lost without it
But now that I can see again and know what I desire
I have lost my sunshine boy.
I plead to anyone that is holding on to let go
It is okay to be alone and it is okay to feel sad
But holding on to your past will warp a future
That could be filled with happiness and light
And you too could lose your sunshine.
