Expectation Unfulfilled
You saw his fist fly
You saw the mark swollen on her face
But you turn your head
And close your eyes
You hear the way he talks to her
Every cruel word you know he means
All the names he is so sure she deserves
But he is just a coward behind what he seems
She only shows anger
So that you can’t see the pain
But she won’t last much longer
You still do nothing because you’re afraid
You’re scared of change
Afraid of him
You don’t want to take the blame
Her light now is so dim
But you refuse to help
Even though she needs you
You’re too worried about yourself
Still you know exactly what you should do
