Summer Wind
Her breath blew away softly in the warm summer wind.
It drifted past the flashing lights and the people spinning into a blur.
“Don’t cry” he said “this won’t end yet.”
The dark sky howled a soft tune and told her all the needed to know.
He threw a penny in the well… for her, and it shined with all the other copper wishes.
Nothing will ever be the same.
She traced a path across his the lifeline in his hand until it came to a break and split into two.
“This is where your life began”, “and this is when I met you.”
A tear like a star, it shines when everything else in the world seems dark.
Summer wind is warm; it brings new lovers together and tears the best of us apart.
