Lagoon Seeker
The boat slices through the water following a frozen night.
I lead by dependability; strong and protective.
Propelled forward by the churning beneath
Into the desolate haze.
Delicate silk spills over my edge, dripping
The pursuit of my precious cargo.
I wish to impress my Lady, rest easy my child,
The fluid is calm, even sturdier, my bow.
I borrow the eyes of my brothers
Elevated and vast is their spectrum.
But my eyes gaze, to discover the hidden,
My eyes alone cringe at the sunken limbs
I bear it to save you, Free Spirit,
Not a breath escapes my splinters.
Hope stretched to the finest silk thread;
Lingering light in the last moments of dusk.
Your perpetual prayer was just,
But useless to the kiss of death.
One flame remains, a cruel trick of my shifting breeze
To bid my delicate Lady false assurance.
I will never leave you, my Love.
When you crumble to pieces,
Never will I fail to reconstruct your heart
With the sturdy timber peeled from my flesh.
Stronger than steal, lighter than sea,
Ceaselessly afloat amidst your undying grief,
To cradle you when I can no longer bear your weight.
