Leaving myself
for the glory of you
Abandoning me
Embracing what's true
Knowing my faults
But saying enough
handing over control
letting go of my stuff
drinking the world
but coming up dry
only God can fill it
so why even try
We play it so well
until we get away,
take off our smiles
Until next sunday
numerous attempts
promises of turning
turn into a cycle
of never really learning
so what'll it be
the act we just drop
abandon ourselves
and finally stop
